Latvian - latviešu
Latvian, Lithuanian and Greek are the most archaic languages in Europe, preserving words and grammatical features lost in other European languages. Of the three, Lithuanian has the most conservative grammar and Greek the most conservative vocabulary. Latvian was committed to writing relatively recently, the oldest surviving manuscript dating from 1507.

Jo tik ļoti Dievs pasauli mīlējis, ka viņš devis savu vienpiedzimušo Dēlu, lai neviens, kas vīņam tic, nepazustu, bet dabūtu mūžīgo dzīvību.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3,16
9. Mūsu Tēvs debesīs! Svētīts, lai top Tavs vārds. 10. Lai nāk Tava valstība. Tavs prāts, lai notiek kā debesīs, tā arī virs zemes. 11. Mūsu dienišķo maizi dod mums šodien. 12. Un piedod mums mūsu parādus, Kā arī mēs piedodam saviem parādniekiem. 13. Un neieved mūs kārdināšanā. Bet atpestī mūs no ļauna.
9 Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Matthew 6
