"Blessed are the peacemakers" "Blessed are the merciful" "Blessed are the pure in heart" Matthew 5
What makes Christianity unique among religions is . . . .
Christianity is a religion of hope, love and the promise of heaven.
It is the only religion in which we are free to build a personal relationship with God.
It is a religion in which our God loves us and we love humanity, including (and especially) those who might appear to be unlovable.
It is a religion where we have direct access to our God through prayer anywhere we happen to be, 24/7.
Our Bible is a source of comfort, inspiration and wisdom.
Christianity is a religion in which we are encouraged to show our love for God through caring about other people.
It is a religion in which anyone who accepts Jesus into their life will receive everlasting life in heaven.
In Christianity, if we are sorry for our sins, turn towards being a better person and try if possible to put right any harm we have done, God will forgive us and the slate is wiped clean.
Unlike other religions, Christianity doesn’t have a long list of rules to be obeyed. Instead, the four basic rules are:
Love God
Love mankind
Love yourself
Treat others the way you would like them to treat you
Rules 1 and 2 summarize the famous Ten Commandments
At the heart of Christianity is love - love of God, love of His Son Jesus, love of the people around us including those who don’t like us, love of our planet, love of nature, and love of life.
Christianity welcomes everybody. Jesus never turns anyone away. Whatever guilty secrets we are carrying, however unworthy we feel and whatever our previous religion, Jesus welcomes us with open arms.
Because Christians are excited about all these things they long to share them with the world!
