Upper Sorbian - hornjoserbski
Although Upper and Lower Sorbian are basically the same language, speakers of the one sometimes have difficulty in understanding speakers of the other. Both languages have official status with German in the districts where they are spoken. Sorbian, a Slavonic language, shares with North Frisian, a Germanic language, the ancient Indo-European grammatical feature of distinguishing singular, dual and plural, in some circumstances.

9. Wótče naš, kiž sy w njebjesach!
Swjeć so Twoje mjeno,
10. přińdź k nam Twoje kralestwo,
stań so Twoja wola,
kaž na njebju tak na zemi.
11. Wšědny chlěb naš daj nam dźens.
12. A wodaj nam naše winy,
jako my tež wodawamy swojim winikam.
13. A njewjedź nas do spytowanja,
ale wumož nas wot złeho.
9 Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Matthew 6
