Upper Sorbian - hornjoserbski

Although Upper and Lower Sorbian are basically the same language, speakers of the one sometimes have difficulty in understanding speakers of the other. Both languages have official status with German in the districts where they are spoken. Sorbian, a Slavonic language, shares with North Frisian, a Germanic language, the ancient Indo-European grammatical feature of distinguishing singular, dual and plural, in some circumstances.
