Traditional Dialect of Cornwall

Unlike in standard British English, the final "r" was pronounced. This involved a slight roll of the tongue.

Although it was a west of England dialect, it often differed from the other western dialects. This was because until the 1600s much of the population spoke the Cornish language as their mother tongue and only used English as an acquired language which was lacking in dialect features.
