Old Frisian (1200-1500) - Frēsisk

Old Frisian was spoken over a similar time period to Middle English (1150-1450), but had more in common with Old English (pre-1150). In late Old Frisian "v" was sometimes written for "w" in words like "winna" (to win), "vinna". This change of "w" to "v" occurred in most of the Germanic languages except English. In the Scandinavian languages this was reflected in writing, but in German and Dutch "w" continued to be written.
