One Way

We are all familiar with our increasingly busy roads and motorways, "one way" streets in towns, and all the many different road signs, white lines and arrows which tell drivers the way to go in safety, so that hopefully they don't get into dangerous situations. Sadly some of us are not always as careful and considerate as we should be. Sometimes there is only "one way" to do a thing properly - heating food correctly for a meal, for example, or building a garden shed, even completing a jigsaw puzzle or wordsearch!

Believe me when I say that there is only one way to get to Heaven. No, you don't just die and enter Heaven after cruising through life basically doing what you want, when you want and how you want. You go there when your life has been given to the Lord Jesus, you have asked Him to forgive your past wrong deeds and thoughts and you have tried hard to live as He did, with His kind of attitude and manners. He taught people how to behave in what is known as the Sermon on the Mount, in St.Matthew's gospel, chapters 5, 6 and 7. It is well worth reading these three chapters through in their entirety.

Jesus said He was "the Way and the Truth and the Life". He declared that nobody could come to God the Father and have fellowship with Him in Heaven without believing that Jesus was his personal Saviour (as well as the saviour of the world!) You can read this very statement in John's gospel, chapter 14 verse 6.

We must all try to do our very best as we travel along the road of life.
