Jesus told him, "Go home; your son will live." The man believed the word

On his way home his servants met him with the the news that his son was

to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus
stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.

They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up and said, "All right, but let
the one who has never sinned throw the first stone." Then he stooped down
again and wrote in the dust.

When they heard this, they left one by one, starting with the older men, until
only Jesus was left, with the woman standing there. Jesus stood up and said

Lord." And Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go now, but leave your

beside them. While the women remained terrified, bowing their faces to the
ground, the men asked them, "Why are you looking among the dead for someone
who is living? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!

When the women came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the
eleven disciples and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the
mother of James, and several other women who told the apostles what had
happened. But they did not believe the women, because the story sounded like
nonsense to the men.

only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering what had happened.
