Heaven

Sir Winston Churchill

"When I get to heaven I mean to spend a considerable portion
of my first million years in painting."

Churchill used to relax by painting landscapes.

The Bible

One of the criminals who had been crucified beside him was
hurling abuse at him, saying, "Aren’t you the Christ? Save
yourself and us!"

But the other criminal protested, "Don’t you fear God even when
you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes,
but this man hasn’t done anything wrong. Then he said to Jesus,
"Remember me, Jesus, when you come as King!"

Jesus said to him, "I promise you that today you will be with me
in Paradise."

Luke 23,39-43

It is never too late to turn to Jesus and be saved. The criminal
respected God, he repented of his sins, he believed in Jesus
and he declared his faith openly. He didn't belong to any
particular church, he wasn't a respected member of society
and he probably hadn't been baptized. Jesus didn't
hesitate to welcome him to heaven.

The Bible

[Jesus said] "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were
not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you."

John 14,2

My Father's house = heaven

The Bible

God will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no
more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are
gone forever.

Revelation 21,4

The Bible

[Jesus said] "The poor man died and was carried by the angels
to sit beside Abraham at the feast in heaven."

Luke 16,22

The Bible

This is how it will be when the dead are raised to life. When the body
is buried, it is mortal; when raised, it will be immortal. Our bodies are
buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried
in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.

1 Corinthians 15,42-43

The Bible

Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting?
1 Corinthians 15,55

The Bible

[Jesus said] "Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where
moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves
break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where
moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in
and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will
be also."

Matthew 6,19-21
